Is the Polyunsaturated Fat Diet Good For You?

Low-fat diets with us for many years. Has been accepted or conventional wisdom that having a low fat diet is better for your health, your stop obesity and reduce your chances of getting cancer and cardiovascular disease later in life. But is this true?

For more than two decades the rich world to believe wholeheartedly that the main components of a diet low in saturated fat is the fat and cut the use of polyunsaturated fats such as soybean, sunflower and safflower. Conveniently, the American agribusiness managed to drastically reduce the popularity of exports such as coconut oil and transform their country into a large soybean farm. At the same time we get high media with danger and saturated fat eating butter. Suddenly all the people eating margarine and cooking with sunflower oil and vegetable oil. Farmers almost universally changed to feed soy. Each item of processed food and junk food products because suddenly called healthy polyunsaturated fats. And what results is more than 30 years on the road? Are we healthy? There is less obesity, heart disease or cancer? The answer is no. Are you starting to put together two and two?

That’s right – polyunsaturated fats are no better for us. It is not easy to distribute.

It is a fact that only the so-called developed world are cancer, heart disease, diabetes and obesity are major health problems and the leading cause of death. For those in developing countries with enough income (only a few dollars a day) and adequate access to food and clean water, cancer, etc. not the primary cause of death. They have a cigarette. They have alcohol and other toxic drugs, but they are not too heavy and special diets. Many studies have been done before and after the Polynesian society they were exposed to western food. Prior exposure to western food that they live with a diet containing coconut oil by 60% and none had coronary problems. Inuit in Greenland survived almost entirely on fish diets high in fat and protein, and no one has the problem of obesity.

The truth is that we need saturated fat in our diet because they stimulate the activity of the thyroid. This is the hormone in hyperthyroidism activity given that steroids do to fight aging and help give strength to the immune system. Unlike soy and other vegetable fats suppress the thyroid. If the thyroid is pressed cholesterol our body can not burn and become more severe. And suppressed thyroid can not fight cancer and other diseases.

For this reason alone we must give our irrational obsession with polyunsaturated fat. You can change the flavor of saturated fat, no fat. Not only will you not fat, you probably live longer too. Nathan Pritikin, the inventor of a low-fat diet, committed suicide when he found that non-fat does not cure the leukemia.
